According to the battlefield reports, troops of the 57 Div continued their operations north of Visuamadu Kulam tank and captured a terrorist bunker last morning. Also, troops during the operations found a sniper riffle.
Meanwhile, the Task Force 2 troops engaged in daylong confrontations with the terrorists north of Udayarkattukualam tank. The Task Force 4 troops too had similar confrontations south of Puthukkudiyiruppu. Both ground sources, and intercepted radio transmission reports confirmed heavy damages to the terrorists during these clashes.
Separately, snipers deployed under the Army 55 Division in Chundikulam forward areas confirmed shooting down of 2 LTTE cadres.
