(Colombo Lankapuvath January 31) In search operations conducted in the areas of Kilinochchi, Trincomalee and Mullaittivu yesterday (30) troops recovered several war items of the LTTE. In search operations conducted by the troops of the Task Force IV in west Pudukuduirrippu from 06.00am to 06.00pm troops recovered 210 litres of kerosene oil in 10 barrels, a container filled with Urea, 10 water jets and 10000 candles.
According to the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS), troops of the Task Force II recovered 07 fishing boats, 01 T 56 weapon, a 2.5 kg claymore mine, 01 rifle grenade, 55 hand grenades, a national Identity Card, an ID used by LTTE cadres and a bottle of water. These items were recovered in search operations conducted in the Udayarkattukulam area.
Meanwhile 14 kg of C 4 explosives and 10 feet of detonator codes were found in the in Trincomalee while troops also recovered 03 12.5 kg claymore mines close to the Dharmapuram lagoon said the MCNS.
